Job summary

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking an Equipment Operator I - CDL to support the Facility Services Division. The role involves operating light-to-medium equipment, performing construction and maintenance tasks, and collaborating with a team to maintain park facilities and stormwater structures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of relevant equipment operation experience.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements at time of employment.
• Successfully pass Commission medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Operate light-to-medium and some heavy equipment on projects to perform construction and maintenance.
• Transport and haul materials to job sites with dump trucks and low boys.
• Perform routine safety inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Coordinate and lead project work of park/general maintenance or seasonal crews.
• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and stakes marked in the ground to plan work priorities.
