The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an Equipment Operator I - CDL to join the Critical Projects Team. You will operate light-to-medium heavy equipment, perform construction and maintenance tasks, and support stormwater and park renovations with a collaborative crew.

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of relevant light-to-medium equipment operation experience or equivalent.
• Must possess a CDL with appropriate endorsements at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and light equipment for construction, renovation, and maintenance in parks.
• Transport and haul materials to job sites; load trucks and stage equipment.
• Perform routine safety inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Assist in grading, stormwater maintenance, and related park projects under supervision.
• Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to plan priorities and ensure quality work.
