Job summary

The JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa in Aventura, FL is seeking a Youth Activities Coordinator to lead engaging arts, crafts and recreational sessions for guests of all ages in a luxury hotel setting. Scope of Position

The Youth Activities Coordinator's primary focus is to provide prompt, courteous and efficient service working directly with children and families in a luxury brand inspired hotel environment where attention to detail is key. They will also possess a limitless desire to create activations that are fun, creative, on time and memorable.

Position Requirements

• Professional demeanor and happy attitude.
• Previous experience in teaching or leading group activities, particularly for children and families, is a plus.
• A creative and enthusiastic approach to engaging guests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt activities to suit various age groups and interests.
• Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS systems).
• Outstanding and professional guest services skills.
• Organized and the ability to facilitate multiple people and skill sets at the same time.
• Knowledge of supplies.
• Excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Experience setting up, operating and breaking down events.

Responsibilities

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
• Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to be outdoors for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including heat, sun, wind, and rain.
• Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
