Job Summary:
The Outbound Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the packing and shipping area to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfillment. This role will coordinate workflow, manage team performance, and collaborate with inventory control to resolve discrepancies and maintain stock accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the flow of orders from order selected to shipped.
- Monitor order status and prioritize urgent shipments.
- Operate or organize labor for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) orders to make sure they get out in a timely manner.
- Track shipping supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Create SOPs to reduce damage of items.
- Perform quality checks on packages to ensure adherence to packing standards.
- Track and document order selector and packer errors for performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Fulfillment Operations Manager to deliver feedback and support team development.
- Oversee the white glove process, ensuring the right products are chosen and carefully packed for each customer order while supporting and guiding shipping team members as needed.
- Work through bent and dent (B&D) processing as needed.
- Assist packers and order selectors by answering questions and providing direction as needed throughout the workday.
- Perform any duties as needed to support fulfilment operations flow such as order selecting and packing.
- Promote the interest of Outback Toys in a manner consistent with vision, mission, business philosophy and Core Values.
Position Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute pick tickets to warehouse staff for order fulfillment.
- Oversee the movement of orders through packing and shipping to maintain efficiency.
- Track order progress and elevate priority shipments as needed.
- Partner with the Inventory and Receiving Lead to resolve stock discrepancies and maintain accuracy.
- Monitor shipping supply levels and coordinate in-warehouse replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Build expertise in warehouse order selecting and packing operations to confidently answer questions and assist the team in resolving issues.
- Perform processing of damaged items as needed.
- Create standard operating procedures and conduct package inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Record order selector packer errors and communicate feedback.
- Ensure white glove packages are packed to Outback Toys standards of excellence.
- Work alongside the Fulfillment Operations Manager to provide performance feedback and support team development.
- Coordinate shipments to Amazon for FBA.
- Train or coordinate the training of order selectors and packers.
Qualifications:
- Experience in warehouse, shipping, or logistics operations required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Takes initiative, follows through on responsibilities, and finds satisfaction in completing work efficiently and accurately. Experience with inventory management systems and shipping software preferred.
- Saturday work as needed, except for October through December when it is required.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
- Overtime required during heightened seasonal demands (mostly October through December).
