Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking an Operations Clerk to provide administrative assistance in the Santa Rosa operations team. The role involves working with drivers to assign routes, processing paperwork, answering calls and tracing shipments.

You will create reports, scan documents, and support dock operations to keep freight moving efficiently. The ideal candidate has a high school degree and at least 3 years of office or operations experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook,

• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and emails promptly to provide customer service, schedule appointments, and trace shipments.
• Prepare and maintain daily paperwork to move freight, including DOT files, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Prepare documents and reports using AS400 and SAP.
• Scan documents such as Bill of Ladings and Delivery Receipts into the system.
• Close city pickups to the dock and generate manifests for dockworkers.
• Assist supervisors with assigning drivers to routes and processing drivers’ paperwork.
• Prepare transportation-related documents including dock deliveries, driver returns, and damage/overage documents.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
