Job summary

Hinckley Yachts is seeking an Outboard Foreman to oversee the service department’s daily operations and lead a team of technicians in a state-of-the-art shop on-site. The role requires a strong background in marine engine repair, superb organization, and proven leadership ability.

You will supervise repairs on outboard and inboard motors, ensure safety, and maintain high service standards while delivering profitable department performance.

Job Summary

The Outboard Foreman plays a key role in the service department’s customer satisfaction. You'll oversee daily operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure an efficient and profitable service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engine repair, excellent organizational skills, and proven leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Guide and support technicians, ensuring work is performed with high standards. Train and mentor junior staff. Assist in any position to meet team goals. Communicate with customers regarding service needs, timelines, and estimates. You will be building a state-of-the-art shop from the ground up and develop the best team to work on top-of-the-line vessels.
• Repairs: Maintain marine outboard and inboard motors. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with all equipment. Install new outboard engines with controls and accessories.
• Product Lines: Master in various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Work with mechanical systems and basic 12 and 24-volt circuits.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to manufacturing safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Other: Willing to educate themselves on OEM training/requirements. All duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Certifications

Mercury (V12) required

Pre-Employment

All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.?

• Strong understanding of sterndrive, outboard repair, and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical diagnostic tools and software.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with all types of equipment.
• Willing and able to educate themselves with OEM technical training/requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
