Job summary

Hinckley Yachts is seeking an Outboard Foreman to lead the service department’s daily operations, guide technicians, and ensure efficiency and profitability on top‑of‑the‑line vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong marine engine repair background, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and a track record of mentoring staff in a hands‑on shop.

This on‑site, full‑time role offers a waterfront work environment and opportunities to shape the future of the yachting service.

Job Summary

The Outboard Foreman plays a key role in the service department’s customer satisfaction. You'll oversee daily operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure an efficient and profitable service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engine repair, excellent organizational skills, and proven leadership ability.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Guide and support technicians, ensuring work is performed with high standards. Train and mentor junior staff. Assist in any position to meet team goals. Communicate with customers regarding service needs, timelines, and estimates. Build a state‑of‑the‑art shop from the ground up and develop the best team to work on top‑of‑the‑line vessels.
  • Repairs: Maintain marine outboard and inboard motors. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with all equipment. Install new outboard engines with controls and accessories.
  • Product Lines: Master various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Work with mechanical systems and basic 12 and 24‑volt circuits.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to manufacturing safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Other: Willing to educate themselves on OEM training/requirements. All duties as assigned.
Requirements

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Certifications: Mercury (V12) required.

Pre‑Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

Location: On‑site

Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions with prolonged standing or stooping. Elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, vibration, noise, and chemicals may be present.

Schedule: Full‑time
