Job summary

Hinckley Yachts is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our erg,”s team of technicians. You will diagnose and repair high-performance vessels, using OEM software and a range of diagnostic tools. The role involves working on engines such as Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Hamilton water jets.

The ideal candidate has experience with marine mechanical systems, diagnostics, and hands-on troubleshooting. ABYC certification is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools used in marine maintenance.
• Experience installing marine mechanical systems and related plumbing/hydraulic work.
• Ability to write condition reports, prepare estimates, and plan projects.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ABYC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: use OEM software and tools to diagnose and repair marine systems.
• Repairs: perform skilled repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
• Product Lines: work on Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety Compliance: adhere to safety standards and guidelines.
• Other: perform all duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.
• Repairs: Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
• Product Lines: Must be comfortable working on all boat systems; Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety Compliance: Performing all work to safety standards and guidelines.
• Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in marine mechanics or related fields.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Certifications: ABYC certification (preferred). Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment
