Job summary

Hinckley Yachts in Kentucky is seeking a Marine Diesel Mechanic to join our skilled team. You will maintain high-performance vessels, diagnose systems with OEM software, and perform repairs and preventive maintenance on marine engines.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of marine experience, proficiency with diagnostic software and hand and power tools, and ABYC certification is preferred. We offer competitive pay, full benefits, and a waterfront work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in marine mechanics.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and hand/power tools.
  • Experience installing marine mechanical systems.
  • Ability to write condition reports, prepare estimates, and plan projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics: Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.
  • Repairs: Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
  • Product Lines: Must be comfortable working on all boat systems; Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
  • Safety Compliance: Performing all work to safety standards and guidelines.
  • Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Certifications: ABYC certification (preferred). Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
