Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Otolaryngology in a hybrid practice. The APP will split time between outpatient clinics, inpatient rounding, and operating room support, with a progression toward 3–4 clinic days weekly.

The role involves procedural work including ear canal debridement, injections, and minor ENT procedures, with potential OR participation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited program in nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs; inpatient experience considered in lieu of acute care certification.
• First Assist certification required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN license and Illinois APRN license with national certification.
• Licensed to practice and privileged to obtain applicable DEA/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in outpatient, inpatient, and OR settings within otology.
• Perform inpatient rounding and coordinate with OR and clinic teams.
• Manage ED and inpatient consults during office hours; participate in 1–2 rounds weekly.
• Deliver direct patient care, order and interpret tests, and develop care plans.
• Teach patients and families; participate in quality improvement and research activities.
