Haleon plc. is seeking an OTC Product Development Intern to join our R&D team in Richmond.

You will gain hands-on experience in the product development process, working with scientists to transform ideas into consumer-ready products that meet needs. Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Pharmacy, or another related science or engineering discipline.
• Some laboratory experience gained through coursework, undergraduate research, previous internships, or other hands‑on scientific experience.
• Curious, motivated to learn, and comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback.
• Strong attention to detail and an interest in hands‑on scientific problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Support a defined product development project alongside scientists within our OTC R&D organization.
• Conduct hands‑on laboratory experiments and assist with formulation and product development activities.
• Analyze experimental data and evaluate materials and products throughout different stages of development.
• Maintain clear and accurate laboratory documentation and notebooks.
• Learn and apply safe laboratory practices while gaining exposure to a professional R&D environment.
• Partner with a technical mentor and other scientists to troubleshoot challenges, ask questions, and identify next steps.
• Support scientific research and other activities that contribute to ongoing product development projects.
• Summarize and communicate your work, findings, and learnings through project updates and a final presentation.
