Job summary

Xcel Energy's internship in the OT Support organization offers hands-on exposure to the EMS Team and NERC CIP compliance. The 18‑month program (20–40 hours weekly) starts May 24, 2027, with potential extension based on performance and business needs. You will learn documentation, data analysis, and EMS-related tasks while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
• Pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, CIS, MIS, drafting, or electric design.
• Available to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hrs/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hrs/week) in-person.
• Strong MS Office (Word, Excel) skills; basic programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects to add new field devices to SCADA.
• Assist with GUI to support transmission operations.
• Help with internal processes and documentation.
• Work with data analytics and assist with troubleshooting.
