Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer – Power Systems (OT) to provide expert technical support and automation solutions for power grids.

You will teach, advise, and assist customers to ensure reliability and safety while exploring various career paths within SEL. The role covers communication technologies, fiber optics, radio links, IP networking, and system-wide troubleshooting, with opportunities to contribute to product specs and participate in marketing and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience with power system automation and controls.
• Knowledge of wired protection and control network communications: fiber optic, microwave, spread-spectrum radio.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support and power system automation solutions.
• Teach, advise, and support customers to improve reliability and safety of power grids.
• Visit customers, give demonstrations, and conduct training courses.
• Apply principles and techniques to solve problems and contribute to product specs.
• Contribute to white papers, application guides, and industry publications.
• Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and technical meetings.
• Assist in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of issues.
