Job summary

City of Winston-Salem is seeking a Network Specialist to design, implement, and maintain OT network systems for utilities. You will collaborate with engineers and operations to deliver reliable solutions for Water, Wastewater, and Distribution systems under the E&I Manager.

Emphasis on security, documentation, and cross-team cooperation. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2–4 years of OT network experience, with preferred certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years OT/industrial network experience; IT/OT mix desirable.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Network+) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure, implement, and troubleshoot OT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, SCADA/PLC hardware).
• Design OT network layouts in collaboration with Automation Engineer and Operations staff.
• Implement security best practices; monitor firewalls and IDS/IPS; perform vulnerability assessments.
• Provide real-time incident response for OT network issues and outages.
• Maintain documentation on network configurations and topologies; generate management reports.
• Train staff on OT network management and security best practices.
