Job summary

Perkins in Watertown, NY is seeking a Temporary Occupational Therapist to join an interdisciplinary team serving students with visual impairments and complex needs. The role focuses on evaluation, direct therapy, and collaboration with educators, families, and medical staff for comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required; Massachusetts registration preferred.
• Experience with students who have sensory deficits in vision and multiple impairments.
• CPR/AED/Safety Care certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical evaluation services to students, including assessments and reports.
• Develops ongoing treatment plans and selects adaptive equipment.
• Collaborates in IEP/ISP meetings and program planning.
• Supervises field placements and provides staff training when appropriate.
• Maintains student records and safety practices; ensures proper equipment operation.
• Liais es with physicians and outside providers to obtain medical information.
• Supports grant/proposal writing and professional development activities.
