Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident care and rehabilitation services.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, safe treatment environments, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, plus educating residents and families on home programs and safety. An Associate Degree in COTA and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills and documentation systems (Net Health and Point Click Care mentioned).

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising therapist to update physicians and the team.
• Educate residents and families on goals, home programs, safety, and fall prevention.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Contribute to quality assurance and facility rehabilitation program development.
