Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced OT Support professional to maintain and secure Operational Technology systems across field operations. You will install, configure, and support OT equipment, collaborating with operations, engineering, and IT teams to meet business goals.

The role requires strong knowledge of field controls, SCADA, and instrumentation, with emphasis on cybersecurity and regulatory standards. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5+ years in Field Operations or OT Support (RTUs, PLCs, Measurement).
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of OT experience; or 8+ years without a degree.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and safety focus; proficient with PC tools.

• Supports OT equipment in Operations, adhering to standards and cybersecurity guidelines.
• Provides technical support for OT, operations, engineering, and IT teams.
• Identifies technology requirements to meet business needs and supports components.
• Maintains OT field controls and instrumentation systems including HMIs, PLCs, DCS, Modbus or Allen Bradley.
• Repairs OT equipment and ensures systems meet cybersecurity standards per policies.
• Enables OT data acquisition for real-time access, analysis, and info distribution.

Job description

• Supports Operational Technology equipment used in Operations and ensures the equipment follows industry standards, governmental guidelines, and cybersecurity considerations
• Provides technical support for operations, engineering, and IT specialty teams in support of the OT equipment
• Identifies technology requirements to meet business needs, while demonstrating Information Technology skills to ensure proper handling and support of technical components
• Provides support of OT related field controls and instrumentation systems including technologies such as HMIs, PLCs, DCS, OPC DA, DCOM, Kepware, Modbus or Allen Bradley Control Logix
• Repairs OT related equipment and systems
• Ensures all OT Systems meet technical and cybersecurity standards as described by our policies and as required by governmental agencies
• Enables OT Data acquisition to ensure continuous realtime access, analysis, and the distribution of information across the enterprise
• Cultivates relationships with key OT vendors in addition to operations and engineering teams to drive technology standards while innovating with proposed solutions
• Understands Field Operations, SCADA, Pipeline Control, Measurement, Automation and Telecommunications
• Understanding of MOC, change management and documenting work items for future reference and determining repeat outages
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Field Operations or Operations Technology Support (RTUs, PLCs, Measurement)
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Science or equivalent with experience with OT systems including installation, configuration, and support; a minimum of eight (8) years of experience without a bachelor's degree
• Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills
• Experience with Field Controls and instrumentation systems
• Solid understanding of Networking topologies and fundamentals
• Experience maintaining OT equipment
• Solid understanding of BI, Database, SQL, and other reporting tools and platforms
• Working knowledge of Cybersecurity tools and systems and their use in protecting OT assets
• Expertise in developing metrics, analytics, and other measures to maintain and improve the operation of key systems
• Ability to work across multiple teams to identify, develop, and implement IT/OT solutions in support of our business areas
• Ability to work with outside resources including vendors, contractors, governmental agencies, and other support teams to deliver strong solutions
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Up to 25% travel
