Job summary

Qualifications

RN with CWOCN credential within 24 months of hire or transfer.
2 years of experience in a medical center or similar setting.

Responsibilities

Assess care needs of ostomates, wounds, fistulas, and skin care associated with incontinence.
Establish and implement plan of care; reevaluate and adjust per patient needs.
Collaborate with physicians on patient care.
Educate patient and caregiver one-to-one.
Write and update protocols; evaluate equipment for ostomates and wounds.
Orient new staff on ostomy, skin, and tube care.
Provide in-services and lectures for residents and nursing staff.
Prepare displays and slides for wound lectures.
Participate in performance improvement, quality and safety initiatives.
