Job summary

Travis County is seeking an Engineering Associate/Engineer to review plans and perform engineering analysis for on-site sewage facilities (OSSF). You will work under engineers and team leads, preparing permits and monitoring projects to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

The role offers path to higher classifications and may require a flexible schedule to meet department needs; English and Spanish speaking abilities are valued along with PE licensure within four months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and four years of directly related, increasingly responsible engineering design and/or analysis experience, including one year of lead experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred for Engineer level; reciprocity within six months if licensed out of state.
• Any combination of education/experience equivalent to the stated requirements to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Provides plan review and engineering analysis of proposed designs to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations related to on-site sewage facilities (OSSF).
• Prepares and oversees permits, inspection protocols, maintenance and monitoring of OSSF projects.
• Provides guidance and consultation to OSSF inspection staff and county departments and officials.
• Maintains accurate records of office work activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
