Job summary

Fairfax County Government seeks an Engineering Technician II lead to supervise a team responsible for plan and permit review, compliance verification, and support for methane gas systems, leachate pumping, and stormwater facilities.

You will coordinate with staff and external vendors, oversee 24/7 on-call activities, and supervise field inspections and project milestones to ensure timely completion in a diverse, award-winning public works environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of engineering technical support work.
• High school diploma or GED; equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to supervise, mentor and coordinate with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor the Engineering Technician II group.
• Coordinate with staff and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Review plans and permits, monitor compliance with environmental and industry standards.
• Schedule and manage 24/7 on-call staff and incidents.
