Job summary

Avacend Inc. seeks an OSP Inspector II to ensure underground, buried and aerial plant facilities meet current standards through inspections and corrections by contractors. The role requires documenting inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically and communicating via email and cell phone.

Occasional manual data entry and proficiency with mapping/GPS tech are expected. Ideal candidates will have NESC inspection experience or airborne cable line crew work, knowledge of OSP Construction

Qualifications

• Previous experience performing NESC inspections or experience working on an aerial cable line crew
• Previous experience performing wooden pole ground line inspections
• Must be proficient in OSP Construction Standards
• Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code
• Computer experience: Microsoft Windows XP, Excel 2003 or newer and Outlook
• Experience with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint 2009 or newer is preferred, but not required
• Familiar and comfortable with internet usage, and web page browsing
• Good communication skills
• Personal time management and organization skills
• Construction contractor management skills
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel on short notice

Responsibilities

• Inspect underground, buried and aerial plant facilities for code conformance
• Document inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically
• Communicate via email and cellular phone; use printed spreadsheets for manual data entry when needed
• Utilize mapping/GPS technology to support inspections and documentation
