Job summary

StarTech Networks Inc. seeks an OSP Field Engineer for a long-term project onsite in Little Rock, AR.

The role performs field surveys, collects data to support fiber optic and telecommunications engineering, documents aerial and underground conditions, and ensures data for design and permitting is gathered. Responsibilities include field walks to document poles and ROW boundaries, capturing photos, measuring spans and GPS coordinates, and converting notes into Google Earth KMZ files.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP fielding or utilities surveying preferred.
• AT&T exposure is a plus.
• Google Earth KMZ/KML file creation/editing is a plus.
• Understanding of FTTP and AT&T GPON design is advantageous.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding field tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field walks to document poles, underground paths, ROW boundaries, and site conditions.
• Capture required photos, including pole tags, pole heights, cable labels, MPOE, handholes, anchors, clearances, and obstructions.
• Measures spans, attachment heights, mid-span clearances, and accurately record GPS coordinates.
• Taked detailed field notes following OSP Design Principles and maintain accurate routed documentation.
• Convert field notes into Google Earth/KMZ format (preferred).
• Identify constructability issues, easements, utility conflicts, and permitting requirements.
• Upload and manage field data using platforms such as Katapult Pro or IQ GEO.
