Job summary

StarTech Networks Inc. is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to perform field surveys and data collection in Kansas City, onsite.

You will document poles, UG paths, ROW boundaries, capture measurements, photos, and GPS coordinates to support fiberoptic and telecommunications projects. You will convert field notes into KMZ/KML formats, identify constructability issues and permitting requirements, and communicate findings to Project Managers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Field surveying experience in OSP/telecom preferred.
• Document poles, UG paths, ROW boundaries and site conditions.
• Knowledge of KMZ/KML or Google Earth is a plus.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform field walks to document poles, UG paths, utilities, ROW boundaries, and site conditions.
• Capture photos and GPS coordinates, including pole tags, heights, and labels.
• Measure spans, attachment heights, mid-span clearances and record data accurately.
• Maintain field notes following OSP design principles and accurate route documentation.
• Convert field notes into KMZ/KML formats and share findings with project teams.
