StarTech Networks Inc. is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to perform field surveys and collect data for fiberoptic and telecommunications projects.

You will document poles, UG paths, ROW boundaries, and site conditions while capturing photos and GPS data for accurate design and permitting. Responsibilities include converting notes to Google Earth/KMZ formats, identifying conflicts and permits, and communicating findings to Project Managers and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP fielding or utility surveying preferred.
• AT&T experience preferred (IFP, ASE, GPON exposure a plus).
• Knowledge of creating/editing KMZ/KML files is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to work outdoors.

Responsabilités

• Perform field walks to document poles, UG paths, utilities, ROW boundaries, and site conditions.
• Capture photos: pole tags, pole heights, cable labels, MPOE, handholes, anchors, clearances, obstructions.
• Measure spans, attachment heights, mid-span clearances, and record GPS coordinates.
• Take detailed field notes per OSP Design Principles; maintain route documentation.
• Convert field notes into Google Earth/KMZ format (preferred).
• Identify constructability issues, easements, utility conflicts, and permitting needs.
• Upload and manage field data using Katapult Pro or IQGEO.
• Communicate field findings with Project Managers, Engineering teams, and stakeholders.
