Job summary

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of telecommunications, fiber optics, utilities, or related OSP experience.
• Understanding of fiber network design, construction, and deployment practices.
• Ability to read and interpret utility, engineering, and fiber network maps.
• Knowledge of fiber color codes and splicing fundamentals.
• Experience working with contractors, engineering vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering and construction of fiber optic network infrastructure.
• Assist with fiber route design, cable management, conduit planning, and network optimization.
• Coordinate with outside engineering firms on both high-level and detailed network designs.
• Manage engineering contractors to ensure project quality, accuracy, and timelines are met.
• Support material planning, procurement, and inventory management efforts.
• Partner with construction and splicing teams to provide engineering guidance and project support.
• Review and validate as-built plant records and network documentation.
• Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, relocations, and network upgrades.
• Conduct inventory audits and support ongoing asset management initiatives.
• Participate in project meetings and provide engineering updates to stakeholders.
