Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Manager, Outside Plant Engineering to oversee the planning, design, and execution of outside plant construction and maintenance. This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical knowledge of fiber construction, splicing, network architecture, and OSP documentation, and supports a 24/7 operation.

You'll lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors, ensure regulatory and OSHA compliance, and drive projects from surveys to installation across FTTP deployments while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field; minimum 10 years in fiber construction.
• Advanced knowledge of optical networks, aerial/underground construction, and splicing techniques.
• Experience managing outside plant contractors with quality oversight and invoicing.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; capable of leading cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver's license, clean record; able to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage an OSP team including Supervisors, Fiber Technicians, Engineers, Locators, and Construction Technicians.
• Train team members in splicing techniques, troubleshooting, and OSP processes.
• Oversee FTTP construction projects, field surveys, cost development, and multi-tenant installations.
• Coordinate in-house and contract resources; manage contractors, invoicing, and quality of work.
• Support network troubleshooting, restoration, and 24/7/365 on-call responsiveness.
• Ensure OSHA safety standards and FCC/NCTA compliance across activities.
• Provide administrative and project management support including reporting and budgeting.
