Job summary

GCS in New York seeks an experienced OSP Engineer to lead the deployment of telecommunications fiber network projects, overseeing engineering, permitting, construction, vendor coordination and delivery from planning through handoff.

You will manage contractors and cross-functional teams, ensure schedules and budgets, coordinate testing and acceptance, and drive vendor performance while maintaining clear stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7-10+ years of telecom construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSP engineering and fiber deployment.
• Experience with estimating, permitting, route planning, fiber assignments, splicing, and testing.
• Proven vendor management and project leadership experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and GIS tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Lead end-to-end OSP fiber construction and network deployment projects
• Manage contractors, engineering firms, and cross-functional teams
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, risks, and quality standards
• Coordinate engineering, permitting, construction, testing, and acceptance activities
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications
• Drive vendor performance and maintain strong stakeholder communication

Required Qualification

• Bachelor's degree or 7-10+ years of relevant telecommunications construction experience
• Strong knowledge of OSP engineering, fiber network deployment, and construction practice
• Experience with estimating, permitting, route planning, fiber assignments, splicing, and testing
• Proven vendor management and project leadership experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and mapping/GIS tools
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Telecommunications carrier or fiber broadband deployment experience.
• Experience managing multiple large-scale OSP infrastructure projects.
