Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions, perform base drafting, and update as-built drawings while adhering to Cable One standards. The role involves working with GIS/CAD tools, reading complex walkouts, and delivering complete design packets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or university with minimum five years related experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications such as ESRI and Schneider design software following Cable One Standards.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design.
• Well versed in HFC and Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecommunications outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction progresses.
• Provide full construction build packet with design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and reinforcement planning.
• Design major plant upgrades.
• Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
