State of South Carolina's Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) seeks an Occupational Safety Specialist to perform scheduled safety consultations on general industry and construction sites, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves documenting hazards, proposing corrective actions, tracking deadlines, and preparing reports.

Formación

• HS diploma with experience in occupational safety or industrial hygiene.
• Bachelor's degree in natural/physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or related field may substitute for required work experience.
• OSHA Training Program completion is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct scheduled safety consultations of general industry and construction sites to detect hazards and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Submit written consultation reports, documenting alleged hazards, and formulating recommendations for corrective action to be completed within prescribed time frames.
• Monitor corrective action dates, close consultation files, submit weekly paperwork related to consultation activities, and prepare other reports as required.
• Promote programs to reduce industrial and construction accidents and evaluate safety and health programs and serve as a team member for on-site audits.
• Assist with training other team members, participating in safety demonstrations and serve as a representative on panel discussions for various safety and health professional organizations.
