Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a sufficiently experienced OSHA/HIOSH and EPA compliance specialist to plan, implement, and manage environmental safety programs across Hawaii operations. Responsibilities include inspections of facilities, oversight of industrial hygiene, incident response, and training development.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, ability to lead inspections, analyze data, and communicate with regulators.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree in OSH, EHS, OSET or related field and 2 years of progressive experience, or 4 years of progressive experience in safety/health/environmental compliance.
• Specialist II requires less seniority; Specialist III requires broader independent handling of complex regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain OSHA/HIOSH and EPA compliance programs (SWPPP, SPCC).
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of facilities, yards, and storage areas ensuring hazard controls and compliance.
• Inspect for workplace hazards, monitor noise/air quality, and recommend controls.
• Lead incident and spill response, reporting and root cause analysis.
• Develop and deliver training on HAZCOM, PPE, respiratory protection, and environmental compliance.
• Analyze safety/environmental data and prepare regulatory submissions.
