Job summary

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) of the State of South Carolina is seeking a supervisor to lead OSHA compliance officers, directing inspections and investigations to enforce safety standards across industries.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience, with preferred candidates showing deep knowledge of OSHA regulations and strong leadership and communication skills for interactions with management and officials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with relevant program experience.
• Experience in OSHA or state occupational safety programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct OSHA compliance officers who conduct inspections and investigations.
• Review inspection and investigative reports and advise on actions.
• Supervise staff and provide training and development.
• Conduct evaluations and advise on handling issues in inspections.
• Provide guidance on OSHA inspections at informal conferences and testify at hearings.
• Perform interviews, evaluate equipment, and contribute to strategic plans.
