Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Resident Orthotist to integrate patient assessment, plan treatment, implement orthotic care, and follow up under a Clinical Preceptor. The program progressively increases responsibilities within a structured mentorship.

You will collaborate with physicians, fabricate orthoses, maintain documentation, and participate in ongoing education to ensure high-quality patient outcomes aligned with ABC standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Orthotics and Prosthetics from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
• Ability to interact with patients and physicians.
• Ability to use tools and fabricate orthoses independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within licensed scope as required by law and regulations.
• Assess patients with movement impairment to determine functional intervention.
• Formulate and implement an orthotic treatment plan with referring physician.
• Produce orthotic devices as prescribed.
• Maintain documentation and records per department policy.
• Attend clinics and hospital calls and participate in continuing education.
• Adhere to professional standards and ABC Code of Responsibility.
