Job summary

Hanger, Inc. seeks a fabrication-focused technician to craft and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices. You’ll work closely with clinicians and patients in a workshop setting, using hand tools and fabricating components off-site away from exam rooms.

The role emphasizes fabrication skills, comfort with a range of hand tools, and collaboration with team members to ensure proper device results for patients. California-based position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s policy.
• Technical training school or 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate hand tools to fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices.
• Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• May fit and deliver prefabricated and off-the-shelf orthoses such as cervical orthoses, pressure gradient hose, and trusses.
• Provide education to patients on the application, use, care, and expected outcome for DME products as indicated by the physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations
• Contact vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process.
