Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Washington state is seeking an on-site Orthotics/Prosthetics Fabrication Technician to fabricate and repair orthoses and prosthetic devices.

You will work closely with the Clinician and patients to adjust and deliver devices from a small workshop away from the exam room. The ideal candidate has strong hand skills and experience with small tools such as band saws, drill presses, vacuum systems, heat guns, blades, and speed routers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong hand skills and familiarity with hand tools.
• Experience in fabricating orthoses/prostheses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices.
• Perform ordering, receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• May fit and deliver prefabricated and off-the-shelf orthoses such as cervical orthoses, pressure gradient hose, and trusses.
• Provide education to patients on the application, use, care, and expected outcomes for DME products as indicated by physician instructions.
• Contact vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process.
