Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Akron is seeking a fabrication technician to build and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices. You will work closely with clinicians and patients in a small workshop, focusing on fabrication processes and hand-tool operations.

We value precise hand skills, mechanical aptitude, teamwork and commitment to patient-centered care. Experience with band saws, drill presses, and other small tools is preferred, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A valid driver’s license and driving record within policy standards.
• Technical training school or 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate hand tools to perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices.
• Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• May fit and deliver prefabricated and off-the-shelf orthoses.
• Provide education to patients on application, use, care, and outcomes for DME products as indicated by physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations.
• Contact vendors to order materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process.
