Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a fabrication-focused role in a workshop setting to fabricate and repair orthotic and prosthetic devices, working closely with clinicians and patients.

This position emphasizes hands-on fabrication skills and safe use of small tools in a workshop away from exam rooms. The ideal candidate will have experience with band saws, drill presses, vacuum systems, heat guns, blades, speed routers, and other hand tools, plus a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training school or 2 years experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined by Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices using appropriate hand tools.
• Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• May fit and deliver prefabricated orthoses such as cervical orthoses, pressure gradient hose, and trusses.
• Provide education to patients on the application, use, care, and expected outcomes for DME products as indicated by physician instructions and manufacturer recommendations.
• Contact vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication.
