Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an administrative professional to schedule surgeries, tests and office visits across multiple locations in the region. The role requires coordinating authorizations, medical clearances, and patient records with attention to HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include transcribing orders, handling calls, and ensuring proper charting and billing information. Travel between locations is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Computer experience and keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates operating room, primary care and specialty visits, tests, procedures and/or surgeries.
• Completes reservation forms for hospitals; delivers physician orders for upcoming procedures; tracks medical clearances; obtains billing information.
• Obtains authorizations for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Transcribes reports, answers phones, files patient information, and prepares charts; performs general office tasks.
