Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Administrative Scheduler to coordinate surgeries, tests, procedures and office visits, and to obtain authorizations from insurance carriers. You will manage scheduling across OR, clinics, and labs, ensuring timely patient flow.

The role emphasizes accurate preparation of forms, patient records, billing details, and adherence to HIPAA and privacy policies, with a focus on efficient, compliant administrative support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or some related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Computer experience and keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates operating room, primary care and specialty visits, tests, procedures and/or surgeries.
• Completes reservation forms for hospitals; handles physician orders and billing info.
• Obtains authorizations for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Transcribes reports and maintains medical records; answers phones and files patient information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
