Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years of related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting during routine procedures.
• Ensures patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use.
• Escorts patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies; ensures expiration dates.
• Uses EMR to queue prescription renewals and document tasks for billing.
• Schedules tests and verifies insurance and authorizations.
• Prepares schedules and patient charts for clinical activities; procures medical correspondence.
• Performs check-in and collects copays and verify health care proxy forms.
• Monitors waiting room flow and acts as liaison between patients and staff.
