Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the 3 West Ortho/Trauma unit. You will assist nurses, observe patient conditions, and help with admissions and discharges, under supervision.

Qualifications

• One year of prior health care experience preferred.
• Must have one of the following Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, or Navy Hospital Corps School, or EMS/EMR/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or be a current student in RN/LPN/RT/PT program with clinical experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and ensure patient safety.
• Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
