Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to support cast room procedures, wound care, and patient mobility training in a collaborative orthopedic setting. You will assist physicians with procedures, remove sutures, and educate patients on cast care and mobility aids.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of cast room/medical office experience. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential; team-oriented and patient-focused environment

Qualifications

• Orthopedic Technician and/or ATC Certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year cast room / medical office experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.

Responsibilities

• Applies, removes, and adjusts casts and splints.
• Assists with wound care and incisional dressings; supports closed reductions.
• Fits and trains patients to use crutches and mobility aids.
• Educates patients on casts, splints, braces, and mobility devices.
• Maintains cast room supplies and assists with inventory and training.

Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.What you’ll do:Responsibilities/Duties:Applies, removes, and adjusts plaster and fiberglass casts and splints in accordance with physician and/or physician assistant orders.Applies and adjusts prefabricated splints and braces.Assesses patient comfort as it relates to their casting or splinting.
