Job summary

Scripps Health is hiring for a part-time orthopedic support role primarily based at Scripps Clinic Encinitas and Scripps Medical Center Oceanside, with travel to other North County locations as needed. The role focuses on patient assessments, casting and splinting support, wound care, and collaboration with surgeons and nurses to ensure high-quality orthopedic care.

Required are OTC and BLS certifications, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of casting and splint application and removal.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, sterile field maintenance, and instrument sterilization.
• Demonstrated technical competency in casting, suture removal, and basic wound dressing application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions in English.
• Demonstrated patient sensitivity and a commitment to providing compassionate care.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with patient assessments and technical procedures to accurately assess each patient's condition, including procedures as appropriate.
• Evaluate patients and document patient interactions accurately and thoroughly.
• Practice infection prevention and control measures.
• Collaborate with the care team and contribute as needed to ensure quality patient care.
