Job summary

University Health is seeking an Orthopedic Technician/Medical Assistant to support orthopedic care. The role involves applying and removing casts and splints and delivering basic wound care.

You will provide patient education to patients and families and uphold University Health System policies and guest relations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and appropriate credentialing as Orthopedic Technician or Medical Assistant, with minimum experience in a similar setting; BLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Diploma as Orthopedic Technician or Medical Assistant from an accredited school or credentialing body.
• Minimum six months experience as Orthopedic Technician in a similar setting.
• One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies and removes casts, splints, and other orthopedic devices.
• Performs wound and skin care and provides basic instructions to the patients/significant others.
• Supports and maintains the University Health System's policies, protocols, values, and guest relations.
