Endeavor Health is hiring an Orthopedic Technician in Chicago, IL. The role involves assisting physicians and nurses with orthopedic patients, applying casts and braces, and supporting EMR documentation.

The position requires flexibility for evenings and travel between Swedish Hospital, Skokie, and other sites, with a strong emphasis on patient education and teamwork. Candidates should have a high school diploma, experience in a physician practice, and relevant certifications (OCNS-C and ONCB).

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of physician-practice experience preferred.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• Evidence of leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work evening hours if required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• OCNS-C certification and ONCB Orthopedic Technologist certification required.

Responsibilities

• Follow NorthShore policies and procedures.
• Provide patient care appropriate to age and needs.
• Apply and remove casts; manage braces.
• Document in EMR and communicate with MD.
• Prepare surgical packets; coordinate with hospital staff.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and inventory; assist with procedures.
• Set up for minor procedures and assist orthopedic team.
• Coordinate with management to meet standards.
