Job summary

Jobtailor in Stratham, NH is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide direct and indirect skilled orthopedic care per medical staff orders. You will apply, adjust, maintain, and remove orthopedic devices, and instruct patients and families in proper use.

The role supports the orthopaedic team in inpatient units and operating room settings, handles phone orders within policy, and participates in office functions such as data entry, scheduling, and insurance pre-certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal Orthopedic training program required, or equivalent certification (ASOP) must be obtained within 3 months.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
• National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists or registration by the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect individualized skilled technical orthopedic care according to medical staff written orders.
• Apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances.
• Instruct patients and families on use of orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances.
• Assist medical staff in the orthopaedic room, inpatient units, and/or operating room.
• Accept telephone orders from appropriate physicians within scope of responsibility and hospital policies.
• Apply fracture braces on physicians’ written orders.
• Assist with office functions including exam room turnover, data entry, appointment scheduling, and insurance pre-certifications.
• Collaborate with medical staff, office staff, administration, patients, families, and interdepartmental teams.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships and support a team approach to patient care
