Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide direct and indirect orthopedic care per orders. You will apply and maintain orthopedic equipment, instruct patients and families, and support the medical team in the operating room and inpatient units.

The role requires a formal orthopedic training program or ASOP certification, high school diploma, and availability 8 am–5 pm on weekdays. Some locations may require travel to Hooksett and Manchester.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal Orthopedic training program or certification (ASOP) within 3 months.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
• National Board Certification or registration preferred.
• Ability to work 8 am–5 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Willing to train/cover at Hooksett and Manchester locations.
• Ability to apply, adjust, maintain, and remove orthopedic equipment.

Job description

• Provide direct and indirect individualized skilled technical orthopedic care in conformance with medical staff written orders
• Apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances
• Instruct patients and families on use of orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances
• Assist medical staff in the orthopedic room, inpatient units, and/or operating room
• Accept telephone orders from appropriate physicians within scope of responsibility and Elliot Hospital policies
• Apply fracture braces on written physician orders
• Assist with office functions including exam room turnover, data entry, appointment scheduling, and insurance pre-certifications
• Work effectively with medical staff, office staff, and administration
• Support a team approach to patient care and maintain cooperative interdepartmental relationships

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a formal Orthopedic training program required, or equivalent certification (ASOP) must be obtained within 3 months
• Previous clinical experience preferred
• National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists or registration by the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals preferred
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
• Must train/cover for low census at Hooksett and Manchester locations
• Ability to apply, adjust, maintain, and remove specified orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances
• Ability to instruct patients and families regarding orthopedic equipment, devices, and appliances
• Ability to assist medical staff in orthopedic rooms, inpatient units, and/or operating rooms
