Job summary

Dayton Children's in Dayton, OH, is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to support orthopedic providers across outpatient clinics and the South Campus.

You will apply and adjust casts, splints, educate families, monitor safety, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient care. This full-time role requires a High School Diploma and 0–3 years in healthcare, with after-hours coverage on select evenings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 0-3 years of healthcare experience.
  • Experience with casting and splinting preferred.
  • Strong patient education and communication skills.
  • Commitment to infection prevention, HIPAA, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Apply, adjust, and remove orthopedic casts and splints.
  • Assist with patient assessments including vital signs and pain screening.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on device care and activity limitations.
  • Document care accurately and support clinic operations.
  • Cover after-hours clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays until 6:00 PM.
