Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to support physicians by applying casts, splints, braces, and traction devices in the cast room, OR, and clinics. You'll help position patients and prepare orthotic equipment, working across multiple divisions.

Preferred candidates have at least two years’ full-time experience with casting and traction, a solid understanding of anatomy, and strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Two years’ full-time experience as an Orthopedic technician including casting and traction.
• Preferred: formal training in Orthopedic Technology or related fields.
• Certified Orthopedic Technician or earns certification within 1 year of employment.
• BLS Certification from AHA or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Supports physicians in treating fractures by applying casts, splints, braces, orthotic devices and setting up traction equipment across cast room, OR, outpatient clinics, and divisions.
• Assists with various orthopedic surgical procedures.
