Job summary

Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (Orthopedics). The ideal candidate will scrub on all procedures, assist in the sterile field, and support the perioperative team.

Current Georgia licensure and NBSTSA CST credential are required, with preference for 2–3 years of OR experience and orthopedic instrumentation knowledge. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, maintaining counts, preparing instruments, and ensuring accurate specimen

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Prefer 2-3 years OR experience, CST certification, and knowledge of specialty instrumentation sets.
• Ortho experience in fracture and total joint replacement is preferred; knee and shoulder arthroscopy is a plus.
• Experience with Stryker Mako Robot in knee replacement is a plus.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• NBSTSA CST credential is required and must be in good standing with NBSTSA/ state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to understand use, function, interpretation, documentation and record-keeping of chemical and biological indicators related to instrument and equipment high-level disinfection processes.
• Operate OR equipment per manufacturer IFU and Coffee Regional Medical Center policies.
• Performs OR support responsibilities under supervision of an RN Circulator.
• Ensure item charges are accurate and specimens are passed to the Circulator promptly.
• Assist surgeon and surgical team at sterile field by preparing and having available sterile instruments and equipment.
• Collaborate with OR team to maintain equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Work with perioperative team to assist during procedures as necessary.
• Participate in on-call rotation for the OR.
• Maintain adherence to Coffee Regional attendance and tardiness guidelines.
