Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany, GA is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to provide technical services under supervision of RN and physician. The CST will prepare and assist with procedures, pull cases, and maintain a sterile field while supporting the surgeon with instruments, sutures, and supplies.

You will mentor OR technicians, assist with Ortho/Neuro cases, and contribute to patient care by adhering to AORN standards and ensuring readiness for scheduled procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires vocational/technical degree in accredited surgical technology.
• Ortho/Neuro experience preferred (1 year).
• Accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with surgical procedures in collaboration with RN and physician.
• Pull cases according to doctor preference cards.
• Maintain and prepare sterile field.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Anticipate needs of the surgeon and pass instruments.
• Document implementation and plan changes.
• Consult with healthcare providers and make referrals as appropriate.
• Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
